Re: Toper "Cafemino" 1kg- how good?
There is a flap that is located at the back and bottom of the roasting chamber. It remains in the closed position (sealing the roasting chamber) until either the roast runs its natural course or the operator hits the eject button. Then a solenoid opens the flap. The natural direction of the beans is towards the back, due to the rotation of the drum and the direction of the internal tynes, so the beans are directed straight to the open flap. From there they fall into the cooling tray. It works really effectively.

ya wont be surprised then!Originally posted by Sparky link=1188383765/0#13 date=1188873763If it comes in under 6k Id be surprised. 6k is the price for the relatively common fluidized bed shop roasters that roast about 600 gm.

Ill let yas know when I know
Im about to reinvent frypandenstein, I was looking at the parts diagram from the US hottop site but what I cant figure out as Ive never seen one is how the beans eject? and where they eject from ??
Maybe I could do a 2 foot long hottop hybrid witha bbq flame outlet for the heating?
But thatd probably set the chaff on fire hrmmm]
Im thinking again

So that would work the same as an electrically heated unit I presume?
Anyone know the cost range ona 1-2 kilo unit?

Re: Toper "Cafemino" 1kg- how good?
Gday Sullo,
It would be either a gas t/stat or PID controller mate, depending on the configurability of the roasting process,
Mal.
