There is a flap that is located at the back and bottom of the roasting chamber. It remains in the closed position (sealing the roasting chamber) until either the roast runs its natural course or the operator hits the eject button. Then a solenoid opens the flap. The natural direction of the beans is towards the back, due to the rotation of the drum and the direction of the internal tynes, so the beans are directed straight to the open flap. From there they fall into the cooling tray. It works really effectively.
thanks Paolo I was looking at the parts diagram for this unit and couldnt for the life of me figure that out, thought it had to have something like that but pics didnt really give much away. Thanks for letting me know
I am awaiting the arrival of a Toper 2.5kg model (TKMSX 2.5 is the model number).
They intend discontinuing their TAB 2.5 afterburner and suggested I bought the TAB 5 but I only bought the roaster.
Obviously Ill need some time to play with it but if anyone has any specific questions feel free to email.
Perhaps no one in coffeesnobs has a Cafemino? Ill probably be looking at a 2nd hand electric one this Saturday. I have read a few reviews from the US on them but would like to know from ppl here if they have an electric one whats good and not so good on them.
The 1kg is a nice size for me, It can acording to reviews do down to 250 grams and I plan to do a usual load of 500-800 grams. A 2kg toper is just too big. Its for hobby only - not making $. All electric and 10A is nice and easy for me.

Hi Aedion,
I sent you a PM yesterday.
I have had my gas Toper Cafemino for around 7 years now. I have done nearly 800 roasts with it. It roasts the full kilo. It has a few quirks but has been extremely reliable.
