Yep, Javaphile is right. There is no way CoffeeSnobs would ever ship out of here knowing something was wrong.
Your roaster was changed, packed and shipped yesterday. Hopefully they find a plane and it keeps moving towards Europe.

Your roaster should arrive with the cables already swapped and be good to go.

    Hello Andy,
My Behmor is on the way - less than 24h after my first question. 😀

I saw that it is maximum about 3 days the solution for the trouble making cables was found.
Do I have to swap the cables? Or could you already manage to do it before shippment?

(Sorry for the question, I appreciate your outstanding service, but I have a lot of experience about "shit happens" )

Yes, we have good Express International rates into Europe and Asia now via AusPost
    https://auspost.com.au/parcels-mail/...delivery-times
Delivery times are a bit random due to the virus and limited planes flying but most items are pretty fast.

    Hello Andy,

I am looking forward to my new Behmor now 😀. Your are fast !

Special thanks for being fair about VAT in export business - even without waiting for being asked.

And I am possitively surprized about costs for shipping. It is a good price now.
6 years ago shippment to Germany was even more expensive than the Behmor itself.

The fan rewire definitely made the difference, programs closer to what it said, only had to hit C twice to get where I wanted and this time didn’t change the temp, 1C was audible, before the fan rewire not so much.
    Thanks again for sorting it.

    Hello Andy,
I started my roaster career several years on a Behmor from Australia and now I am keen to come back to my roots.
Checking Coffeesnobs I found that I am just in time for the new model 😀.

On an US website I saw that the Behmor 2020 comes with CE-conformity now.
Can you confirm this? (As you have the version that fits the European ~230V power )
    Thanks Peter

    Excellent.
Not only is it a lot faster, all that usable power means you can get clever with profiles and testing to see what works best for your tastes. Enjoy!

Here are a couple of [100g Start P5] (P5 manual) dry burn graphs that also show how much difference there is when the roaster is working as it should.
(ignore my scribble notes on them)

The light grey is air temperature in the roast chamber measured just above the cooling tray handle.
You can see with the wrong fan running the air temperature was stuck between 160C and 180C.
With the fans doing what they should the air temperature ramps nicely from 180C at 5 minutes to 210C at 8 minutes

The black line is the chamber wall temperature which gets hot when you run a heater, a fan (scroll fan) and no exhaust fan (draw fan)

Plenty of temperature to get creative with your auto and manual profiles.
...and out of interest, also shows a nearly linear 100C difference between wall temperature and air temperature in the chamber.

    It worked a treat!

Check out the difference in profile. The 'before' was the original wire configuration as built, with a P5 program with lots of extra added time, and the first crack (FC on the graph) was really just a single pop. The 'after', with the wires moved per Andy's instructions, is a P3 program with a full crescendo of a first crack:

Hey all I found the clips were very easy to remove with needle nose pliers, just grip from the front and back (not the sides) and try to get the pliers griping the middle of the clips. wriggle a little while pulling up and they should remove in a couple of seconds.

    hope that helps someone!

    Thanks Andy - very appreciated!
I did the fix (spade clips a pain - but got there), and a small test 100g test roast on P1 and everything went perfectly. 1C with 1 min left - it now just works!
Thanks again for chasing this down and getting a fix so quickly. I ordered a few bags this morning in anticipation and will have fun when they turn up. Friends and family are going to get a lot of coffee over the next few weeks...

We're a community, it's the right thing to do and certainly faster, easier and cheaper than moving roasters around the country.
Working...
