    Re: Hottop B or P

Weird, they all work OK for me. .wvx is a streaming file for a .wmv so you dont have to download the whole thing before you can start watching it. But if you want to access the raw .wmv file which has the video content, just replace .wvx in the link with .wmv and save it to your PC, e.g. www.thingscoffee.com.au/accessories/hottop-b.wmv. May pay to do the lofi ones first unless you have a fast broadband connection.

      Hi

It also wont play for me. I downloaded the wmv directly but the codec isnt recognised by any of the 4 movie players I have in Linux. Most videos are fine but occasionally one gets something that has been produced that is just ever so slightly different that it wont play.

Pain. OK thanks, I had to use Windows Movie Maker cos my normal package threw an error. Youd think a Microsoft-generated video clip using a Microsoft codec would play on a Microsoft media player wouldnt you?? : Ill try to re-export them using a different (non-M$) player and hopefully theyll behave.

Curious, now they dont work for me either. However just re-upload the hi-fi versions and it works again for me. Be interested to know if theyre still faulting for anyone.

            Hi

Thanks for the new ones. But still probs.
In one player I get "Video codec MS WMV 9 (win32) is not handled."
and in another "Windows Media Video 9 (WMV3) not supported".
Ill try with a Win XP later in the day if I get a chance.

Ive reuploaded all the videos and verified theyre all working now in Firefox and IE (on XP) so hopefully they work for everyone else. If they stop working again Ill investigate whether any cron jobs on the server are changing the file attributes.

                Hi Greg

Im watching the video now :-) Im using a version of XP now.
Bugger that video is still not standardised and its the 21st Century.

Fortunately the Hottop isnt controlled by Microsoft Windows - otherwise one would get the blue screen of death and it would hang just before reaching SC :-)

                    Hi Mike,

Quite a few of the old "D" model did hang just before 2nd crack- in that if you had done a previous roast and the unit was still warm, you added extra time but the dummy was spat- regardless of what you wanted. I guess that the BSOD was replaced by the cinnamon bean of death.

I understand that the fix was a couple of revised bits. It was frustrating though...

Great to see that Greg has Hottop under control for Oz though....You are a more persistant man than I, Greg  ;D

: Im sure this little venture has nothing to do with my growing crop of grey hairs... really.... it cant be.... it must be something else, the weather or something. ;D Still, thats on the admin side, fortunately it doesnt affect the operation of the units.
