  • Forster gets SERIOUS coffee

For those heading to the Mid North Coast this Xmas you can now get a serious coffee fix in Forster. Just opened is Tartt in Wharf St Forster (at the bridge end of the Street). They are using 5 Senses beans and a Synesso no less. I doubt there is another Synesso between Sydney and Brisbane. When I called yesterday the place was humming even though it had only been open a few days. It has a nice airy feel with large windows opening to the street and pavement tables which will be great if it ever stops raining. Cakes and pizza and an alcohol license - all in all an Oasis on the Mid North Coast. And the coffee is excellent.

Forster is a go-to holiday place for me. Tartt has been a place to grab a great coffee for a few years now.

On Saturday I left my travelling machine and beans at home because it was just going to be an overnighter...and I knew that Tartt was at the end of the road. I was really looking forward to a brew from their Synesso.

I was extremely disappointed. The coffee was stale and lukewarm too...I didn't finish it.

Disgruntled, I later went to Aldi and bought some instant (yes...instant!) coffee there (the first instant that I have had for many years) and it was better than the coffee that Tartt served up!

Currently sitting in tartt sipping on a yirg cold brew with strong chocolate and a mix of blueberry and generic red berry notes. Don't know what happened to the Synesso, I suspect it was part of a contract with Five Senses as they now use the beans roasted by the owner (under Little St Roastery brand), and there is a 3 group Slayer on the bench. Had an espresso a couple of days ago and it was legit.
