It was perhaps my first ristretto at Epic that made me realise what real espresso was all about and how good coffee can really be.  A truly excellent blend.

Ive also been tempted to do some of their barista training courses - I need all the help with latte art that I can get!  And if theres anyone who can help with latte art, its the team at Epic.

      Re: EPIC, West Perth

Dropped into Epic while I was in town last week, and perhaps unfortunately ordered a milk based drink. While my latte in an ACF tulip was undoubtedly well made, for my tastes the shot itself lacked the body to cut through the milk, leaving me feeling like I was having a warm milk before bed.
My colleague ordered a long macchiatto, where we discovered that long maccs to the west are made with a double espresso & a lot more milk (probably the drink I should have ordered), rather than as a stained long black.

Perhaps I would have done better with an espresso, but I had to hit the road for the airport & didnt fancy joining the queue which in the late morning showed just how popular this place is. Hopefully Ill get the chance to try something different next time, but only if Im already out that side of town.

In summary: Keeping dairy farmers in business but too milky for me.

How long ago was it sold?
I did my Barista course there back in July.
I popped in at the start of the year and Im sure Vanessa (head trainer) made my latte - mind you its possible to sell the business and maintain staff.

Late 2009 I believe - I wondered whether the standard had dropped too?
            :-?

Over in Perth on holidays and seriously missing my Giotto. Popped in to see these guys yesterday and enjoyed great single origin espresso and filter (Bolivia Estrella i think).

Great little cafe with some seriously funky tunes through the stereo. Staff welcoming, friendly and knowledgable. Highly recommended.

We drop in after the gym three mornings a week. Still excellent quality and great ambience. It is definitely worth getting up to go the the gym (5:30am ) to have their flat whites at 6:30. Friendly and welcoming staff. Great equipment and uptodate magazines!!
My Giotto loves their house blend beans.
