After removing the sticker and emptying them leave them open and bundle them up and send them off using the cheapest shipping option you can. Once we get them back your BeanBay account will be credited 50 cents for every bag returned.
Comment: Add me to the list of those happy with CoffeeSnobs bean delivery service. I am in the Darwin region, and it usually only takes 2 working days for an order (of green beans) to land in my post box.
Question: Can CS re-use the calico bags if I return them?
Just wanted to say a huge thank you. I placed my first order last Wednesday morning and it landed on my doorstep in SA less than 24 hours later.
Very impressive.
Best bet, be more organised!
The description in the front of beanbay is true, we really do roast to order. Typically roast days are Wednesday and Sunday and you should order before those days to ensure you don't miss out.
Having said that while we never have " left overs" we will roast a few extra roasted sample packs on roast days that can ship in between roasts so ordering one of those a day late means you might get lucky... but once they are gone they are gone and the order will be filled next roast.
Andy I just have a quick question on your roasted bean sales. I've been buying from you for a while now but all too often come Thursday morning I go to make coffee and realise I'm not going to make it to the next roast date (oh the noise from her indoors when I break that news!).
But I am not 100% how your system works as far as if someone orders roasted coffee on a Thursday can you post that day assuming there was 'left overs' from the Wednesday roast or is shipping only done the day of roasting as volumes are strictly based on what has been ordered? Thanks.
I'm living in Hong Kong for a year and want to be able to get roasted beans sent over because the coffee options here are pretty limited. Is there a way I can get roasted coffee sent to me?? There's no option for international post in the beanbay. Cheers.
Luke
I am in HK as well and as far as I know, international shipping is not an option and will not be due to the paper work needed and the enormous shipping cost.
I know it's only an option for metro addresses, but I've consistently been impressed with fastway, whether for Beanbay or other retailers.
Incidentally, I get coffeeesnobs delivered to my office and if they turn up before anybody arrives they leave it outside the door, which is on the 6th floor of a shared office building. Not hugely secure, but for <$100 coffee package I'm quite happy with that flexibility.
Hard to reply politely in a public post, what I'm thinking and what I'm typing are two different things.
We subsidised the Star Track freight which is why the price was so good, their service was fast too but something changed in their management when they changed owners and drivers were ignoring the consignment note that said "please leave safe if unattended".
While we asked all CoffeeSnobs members to only use the service to an attended address, plenty of people ignored that and sent it to a home address that may or may not have someone there when the courier arrived. If no one was home and the parcel was carded we got charged $10-$12. The problem here is that we don't have a $10 margin so it was quickly becoming a better idea for me to randomly send $10 notes to addresses in the phone book.
Add to that Star Track changed boundaries without telling us so one parcel going into NT went from $24 freight to $280+ and we only found out when the fortnightly invoice arrived.
Australia Post go everywhere in the country including PO Boxes and don't charge a redelivery fee.
We are pretty close to adding another shipping option in BeanBay too... but it won't be Star Track!
(update - Fastway Couriers satchel and carton options are in BeanBay now and you will be shown them in the checkout)
Personally, I would suggest buying 2 or 3 different varieties and doing some trials to see what results you can get.
The fair crack donation for purchases is built into the purchase price and the system will tell you how much of your purchase went to the fund and also keeps track of your total. Of course, you can also choose to add an extra donation to fair crack if you want to.
