Scored free grinder, so will hold off any any new purchases. Thank you. This thread can be deleted.

I might have an Atom 60 for you. Saw your post and i wondered about selling mine as I acquired a Mythos 1 for some fund raiser gigs at the start of 2020 (and it fits on my bench at home and there were no complaints from other family members) so the Atom is currently on decaf duty at home. I installed the wider chute on the Atom from coffeeparts. I wouldn’t sell it if I didn’t also have a La San Marco SM 95/A 84mm flat burr grinder as a backup backup grinder. Anyway can chat further via PM or mobile.

....and the reality that if it should arrive faulty or break, they're not going to give a toss given you are half a world away.Originally posted by EddieF View Post
Just unsure of the hassle of having to returning faulty products to Europe.

Sorry to highjack this post. When you mentioned buying from oversea, is this seller one can be trusted to purchase from?Originally posted by wirecutter23 View PostFYI, you could potentially find a new Specialita for around $600-$700AUD (including shipping) from Europe if you can ship it to Australia. Stocks are low at the moment though. For some reason they retail for a lot more over here.

Thanks for Sheering your experience with it.Originally posted by Waski View PostMy 2 cents. I have an Atom 65s and always use medium to dark roast. Never had that issue that rooster Ben speaks of. I clean mine out after every bean change. Just because one person says something doesn't mean it's a common thing or even the truth. I've had mine for about 5 months and It's an awesome grinder.

Just my 2c worth but if you are using anything approaching a dark roast or medium dark I would avoid the Atom. They have a design flaw with their plastic shute which ends up blocking with grounds and then fill up the grinds chamber. Although I now use lighter roasted beans (prob medium roast) I ended up selling it after the 3rd/4th time having to pull down the grinder clean, wipe and vacuum out 50 grams of coffee grinds. In all other respects they are an absolutely cracking grinder, quiet, low retention, great build quality, grind quality etc.
I recommend look for a grinder with a metal dosing schute, if you want a couple more options there are always the old favourites Compak K3, Macap M2/M4 (prone to clumping but still pretty solid), Mazzer Mini E (or convert a Doser to doserless).

I can't seem to find any, I did see a local supplier selling them for 750 but I think it was black friday sale so missed that I really want an Atom but I don't wanna spend overb1k so hoping someone here has one for a good price.
