Hg1 [Melb]
Hi guys,
I have for sale a HG1, 83mm mazzer TIN coated burrs.
The burrs have had around 80kgs of coffee through them over the years, and the burr life is well beyond 1000kgs, especially with the TIN coating. It’s likely you will never have to change the burrs in your lifetime.
The grinder has stick on graduations, which are starting to go a little yellow but still work well so I haven’t bothered changing them.
The original graduations and dots that came with the machine have never been used and can be used to replace the current graduations if required.
It has a static wiper installed, and a spare also comes with the machine.
I am the second owner and had to spend a lot of time getting the thing to look clean and as it should.
It was filthy when I got it. The silver coating was dirty and had oil marks and stains all over it. The manufacturer advises to not put any components in the dishwasher so I spent hours manually cleaning using non abrasive cleaners. It now looks like new.
I have also shimmed up the mitre gears so they don’t rub on the gearbox housing, and also recently greased the mitre gears using the recommended synthetic food grade grease. It turns beautifully and smoothly and will last a lifetime without any trouble.
I have also purchased a really thick 4.5mm leather mat and cut it to size. It had a small rubber insert which keeps it tight and in position. It’s so much better than the ones sold by Craig Lyn or Webber. It allows you to use the whole base of the grinder, to place your dosing cup or WDT tool on, instead of placing it on the bench. Don’t be fooled by the colour in the photos, as those photos were taken outside and wash out the colour. The last image show the actual colour, it’s a dark tan and looks very nice.
The grinder itself is in great condition, and there are no scratches on the coating.
As expected, the grind quality is outstanding.
I’m not sure what it’s worth, but shall we say $850. Happy to be advised if I have missed the mark.
I’m located in Melbourne and have the original packaging so can post anywhere in the country if the buyer is willing to pay for postage.
Cheers
