Just found the receipt from AB if anyone needs it once purchased. Turns out I over stated the purchase price by $27. Oops.

I forgot that the rubber bands were included, not extra).

Brendan from memory when researching the Kinu range I remember reading something about the Simplicity and Phoenix lacking some support or similar which people thought may affect performance late in the ownership cycle. The Classic was meant to be the real deal. Unfortunately can't remember where I read that.

Just noticed that you are on the sunny coast too. If you decide to go ahead and pick it up, then we can have a play with espresso stuff while you are here. My beans or yours, or both.

Ah yes, I know the feeling all too well @FilthyStudio . But I would add that I have never regretted succumbing to it!

    Going once...

    Going twice...

    Going ....

    :-)

Argh, resisting the urge as I’ve wanted a simplicity as the classic was too exy. I don’t know how frequent I would use to warrant the purchase but also want to replace my porlex! Damn you Tom

Thanks for the shout out MTT. Just to be clear for everyone, it's just the grinder that's up for sale, not me. Although if my wife ever finds out what I spend on espresso kit, that could change. Watch this space?

The Kinu is a great grinder and Tom is a tops person to deal with. 10/10 would recommend both

Kinu M47 Classic with grip bands

This is the grinder that was James Hoffman’s pick in his hand grinder shoot out see 22min 46sec https://youtu.be/dn9OuRl1F3k

A reassuringly heavy 1.15 kg and packing specially treated “black fusion” (whatever that is) 47mm conical burrs.

I’ve only used this grinder when travelling over the last 15 months so perhaps on maybe 5 trips and probably a total of 30 shots. So the burrs are seasoned and it’s in top condition. It produces great espresso for my tastes which is anything from medium to medium/dark.

Other than some stubborn coffee grinds in the burr chamber it is in near new condition. I can’t find any dings or scratches.

These sell new for $672 from site sponsor AB and the grip bands sell for $27 so new, all up you would pay $699 plus shipping https://alternativebrewing.com.au/pr...lassic-grinder

I'm selling because I really enjoy trying stuff and then passing the item on when it's time for the new toy (Helor 106 is on the way).

I paid $626 for the grinder around April 2021 and $27 for the grip bands so $653 and selling for $425 plus $30 for AusPost including careful packing.

No offers please because I try to sell stuff here so that another CSer can resell up to 12 months later for the same price or better. Pay it forward, and all that good stuff.
Working...
