Bathurst NSW: Diadema/BFC Unico Splendor Heat Exchange Coffee Machine
Selling my 2005 Diadema Unico Splendor. I've owned the machine for about two years after acquiring it from a fellow CS user.
It's had a lot of work done to bring it up to a standard that is to be expected of a modern espresso machine. In stock form, these machines were a bit sub-par. Rampant group overheating, single axis steam and hot water wands took away from the aesthetic appeal (for me at least, this being one of my favourite machines). After around 2010 or so they improved.
Work done:
Profitec steam and hot water valves. Rancilio Silvia V3 steam wand and single hole tip. This gives consistent steam power, the standard two hole tip lost too much pressure.
HX restrictor fitted to settle group temperatures
Boiler insulated with superwool, this drastically reduced the pressurestat cycling
New pump and Bezzera spring pump mounts
New E61 lever roller microswitch
Sound deadening panels fitted to the case to dampen vibration. Accompanying the new pump mounts, this quietens the machine a lot
All new E61 valve and cam seals, shower screen and silicone group seal
New anti vac valve
The machine comes with a naked portafilter and a single spout portafilter fitted with a True Sight handle. This has a small LED in the end which illuminates the cup area.
A 22g, 18g and blind basket are included. I can also include a tamper and milk jug if needed.
Price is $1500 ono.
