    Hi Everyone,

Im looking to upgrade from my Rocky grinder to a higher quality grinder as well as something that can do filter and espresso. Im on the hunt for a Baratza Forte or maybe a Baratza Vario+. Hoping to spend around $500-700ish depending on model, burrs and condition. Also open to other options I may not have considered but I do like the versatility and lowish retention of the Baratza grinders.

    Cheers,
    Will

Have you considered the Baratza Sette 270wi? An excellent grinder for espresso with built-in scales and basically no retention. New, it is within your price range.

I've had two of these, a W and a Wi, each averaged about 18 months between catastrophic failures.

A while ago I consider the Sette 270 for an espresso only grinder but I've go no idea how it performs for filter. Im trying to find one what will able to do both in an attempt for consolidate my Rocky and Encore to free up some bench space 😅 Might need to do some more research 😁

Considered a df64? They are however $900 but will serve you well for espresso and filter! The fellow ode is a big winner with filter coffee, and I know you can change the burr sets out now to accomodate a better espresso range but not the greatest (around $500 for an ode)

df64coffee.com looks like they sell a 220-240V model I think they just have all their prices in USD. Good point about the shipping though will need to look into that

I bought one recently from DF64 coffee and you choose voltage and got 240v model but it came with UK plug so I have it connection via an adapter. If you have a look sponsor Alternative Brewing has them locally for $799 which is only $100 or so more than importing and you get local warranty and support.

Also in that price range you are looking the Eureka Mignon is an excellent grinder, they are built much better than the Baratza.

Good to know rooster, I’ll stick with buying local or grabbing a eureka like you said. We’ll built
