Up for sale is Decent DE1+ Ver. 1.0.0.
One of the early models. I think some hardware differences between this and the current ones can be addressed with hardware upgrades if you want. Possibly the main difference of significance would be that you can’t fit the group head control panel without substantial changes. But I’m not sure I would have used that even if it had it – there is so much to fiddle with without it…..
I’ve owned it for about 4 months – purchased off a fellow Coffeesnobs member.
Shot count about 150 in my hands. Previous owner said they didn’t use it that much, and it had been in storage for about 2 years before I purchased it. Original shot count lost as original tablet died…..
I’ve enjoyed playing with it, and it is a fascinating and extremely capable, flexible machine. But it hasn’t replaced my ACS Vesuvius Evo Leva as my preferred machine, and I have found that the only time I am using it now is when I want a coffee quickly, as it’s warm up time is very short.
So it is time for someone else who has hankered to have a play with a Decent to get the opportunity to do so. It is in excellent cosmetic condition, a credit to the previous owner, and is working just fine as far as I can determine.
A bit about it - it comes with:
I have:
Also comes with a few additional items beyond what I got with it:
Price is $3,350 firm. For complete clarity to respect fellow Coffeesnobs, a little more than what I paid, but it now comes with a number of additional items as listed above which I have found useful in the day-to-day use of the machine.
Pickup only, Melbourne Eastern suburbs.
I expect this will attract attention – so to be clear up front, priority on a first come, first served basis via PM message.

A bit about it - it comes with:
• Two tablets – a recent Teclast one, which I think is the current one being supplied by Decent. Which replaced the original one which is dead and doesn’t want to do anything of use – I’ve tried all the methods I know to recover an Android tablet, without success. But buyer can have a go at resurrecting it.....
• Bottomless portafilter
• Double portafilter. Not sure if this was standard when originally purchased - currently I think the Decents only come with a bottomless portafilter, and one basket (18g). Min you, I've never used it.....
• 20g Decent basket
• 15g Decent basket
• Blind basket
• The suitcase, in excellent condition, and the original cardboard box which is pretty ratty…..

I have:
• Given it a thorough clean, in particular the parts inside the group head. Some interesting engineering there, and it was all nice and clean when I put it back together.
• Fitted a silicon group seal, as the original one was leaking a bit.
• Descaled it, as I’m not sure if/when it was done previously, and the pumps supposedly can start to play up if not cleaned periodically.

Also comes with a few additional items beyond what I got with it:
• A second spare silicon group seal
• A super short power cable – nice if you sit it right in front a power point
• A Decent digital milk thermometer
• A stainless mesh puck screen. Not sure if it helped the espresso, but it did reduce the sloppy pucks a bit…..
• A 3D printed stand to suit an Acaia Lunar scale (scale not included). With a scale you can put the cup on it and the Decent stops when correct weight reached. I’ll miss that feature….
• A 3D printed tablet stand. I really dislike the original tablet stand – you have to use two hands to hold it when you want to use the tablet, and it just doesn’t hold it in position at all well. The printed one you can attach to the top of the machine with double sided tape, and it supports the tablet properly. I was using a 10” table (not included) which also worked really well on the printed stand, and the bigger tablet was nicer to use.
• A 3D printed tray that goes under the water tray to keep things in. Good if you are not using the scales – you can use one or the other, not both at the same time.
• A somewhat experimental 3D printed blue portafilter stand for the bottomless portafilter. I was in the process of refining the design, but it works fine as is, and is what I was using. Sorry, left it out of photos.
