  • [MEL] Heycafe H1 Grinder (Matte White - 2021 Purchase)

    Price: $950
Cash on Pick Up - Essendon VIC

    Intro
This is an excellent value 64mm hardened steel flat burr grinder - probably one of the best in the price range.
You can easily switch between coarse filter grind to espresso with the use of its digital grind size display.
Although it is relatively an unknown brand, it is part of the Hemro Group (Ditting, Mahlkonig, Anfim)

Reason for selling - freeing up counter space for my new Hedone Honne grinder

I purchased for $1450 only 1 year ago from Casa Espresso. Currently you can buy this brand new for around $1190 from alternativebrewing/coffeeparts.

    Estimated Usage
Pessimistic estimate would be 15g x 2 shots a day for 365 days = 11kg of beans through the grinder.
Please see the heycafe thread on coffeesnobs, you'll see the current condition of the burrs - basically brand new.

For those who want to know more about this grinder, CoffeeSnobs thread about it here:
    https://coffeesnobs.com.au/forum/equ...afe-h1-grinder
As internet reviews of this grinder is limited, please do not hestiate to message me your questions.

    Pros
    • High quality in cup. Burrs seem to do a good job for both espresso and filter
    • Stepless Digital display allows you to easily remember where you were for different beans, brew methods
    • Single dosing retention is very low (<0.1g)
    • Small footprint (230l x 138w x 470h) only 7kg
    • Dosing seems very fast compared to other grinders I've used and much quieter
    • Comes with dosing cup/ dosing plate / service kit pouch
    • Can be push-activated or button activated
    Cons
    • Not well aligned out of factory - but I have shimmed it now (see Grinders> heycafe thread)
    • Hate that they included a reference guide for grind sizes - they are not accurate. I have had espresso that go down to 0.3 level. Currently I'm using 1.0 for medium roast hard beans.
    • Some people might not like the squarish aesthetics.

Working...
