Lovely bits of work done. As someone who serviced their own Gaggia, it's nice to see one so well maintained. I've not done a pump replacement and the Sunbeam steam wand is also a new one for me. Except for the fact I sold my Gaggia to pay for a Silvia, and I've been informed that "one coffee machine is enough", I would've been very tempted.
Good luck with the sale.

It's not too difficult. The wand that Luke has used on this one is actually the Sunbeam hot water wand with the tip swapped over to the steam tip. This makes it short enough to be able to purge into the drip tray. I did mine after seeing Luke convert his first one with a Sunbeam steam wand. You need to bend the copper pipe inside the machine to just about the tightest bend you can get from it. You can then fit the connection inside the machine. If you use the steam wand rather than the water wand it makes it too long to be able to purge into the drip tray, but I tried both and preferred the steam wand as it is easier to use in the jug. I just purged into a separate cup, jug or cloth. It's definitely with doing as it makes it easier to use overall and if you can find a steam tip off an EM4820 it'll be even better as you'll have more control.Originally posted by kevviek View PostI've not seen the Sunbeam steam wand on these before. is it hard/worth it?

Gaggia Classic
I'm selling my Classic, I was using this in the interim between my old Quickmill Vetrano (also for sale) and my current machine, a Breville BES900.
Sacrilege! I hear you say, discarding two excellent Italian machines for a Chinese appliance! I get it, but the reality is the Breville is an excellent machine and suits my needs well.
Back on topic, the Classic has been comprehensively overhauled and will ensure years of trouble free service. Cosmetically there are scuffs to the body, the switches are worn.
Items replaced:
-New pump with rubber pump mount
-Boiler descaled, new boiler base o-ring and boiler to group bolts
-Solenoid and OPV o-rings replaced
-New steam valve with silicone tap to boiler o-ring
-New portafilter handle
Modifications and other work:
-Silicone group seal
-Sunbeam steam wand conversion
-OPV adjusted to 9 bar
Price: $400
Pickup from Bathurst NSW or I can post it. Probably will be $20-40 postage depending on your location.
