OK, I have too much money locked up in grinders that aren't being used…..
Up for sale is an ‘as new’ Monolith Titan 75mm Flat grinder. This was ordered at the start of 2021, and received in August that year. Was used until about September 2022, so has about 12 months of use, averaging maybe 2 coffees per day. By my calculations, that’s about 14Kg of coffee through it.
Always used with Mildred’s custom leather mat, so nothing has so much as sat on the top. And since my espresso machine uses a 54mm diameter portafilter, the portafilter arms have never even been bolted on – I used a hand held catch cup.
I believe this is still the latest model, although the design does periodically change without notice. This was the first time the Monolith Flat came with the curved front, same as seen on the Max. Looks great in my view – much better than the square front ones. Denis doesn’t seem to have updated his photos on his website to reflect the newer base, so you can see what the old square base looked like.
Details:
Would suit new buyer, and you can get this one, unlike the normal lottery of trying to order one of these and then waiting for months for it to arrive. Currently Denis’ website says mid-2023 delivery, and I’m not sure if that ordering lottery has already taken place, so may well be a deal later than that.
Price – it cost me US$2650 (same as current new price), plus US$150 for shipping. Including exchange to AU$, charges for foreign currency exchange and local duty (AU$380), cost me AU$4280 to land. Plus walnut cap and the leather mats (AU$207). And when I purchased it the exchange rate ranged from 0.74 to 0.78 or so, whereas it really hasn't been above 0.7 for the last 6 months.....
Asking price - $4,200.
Pick up in Melbourne, but since I have the box and it is in good condition, I might consider posting with insurance at buyer’s expense.
Apologies of photos are on their side - website seems to like them that way despite them being upright on my PC.....
