Re: Silent Auction for Vic Bush Fire Appeal - Rattleware Handleless Jug

Thanks to Hoyks, AM and anyone else involved in organising this silent auction, and of course the original fair crack auction donors. I received the jug by express post this morning, and have had a practice pour, I think this little beauty (and a bit of practice) is going to make me a star around here, son is really getting into "reading" my so far lame attempts at latte art.

Happy to donate the coffee budget to a worthy cause as well

    Di

We did a little BBQ at work for Lunch and I managed to make about 50 plus coffees.. Very Hot out side and most were just opting for cold drinks..

However we did raise a few dollars as the social club donated the food, while KM and my self donated our time and I provided the milk and coffee etc.

On chatting, I mentioned the Victorial Bush Fire & Queensland Floodings Animal Appeal and that as we are in Health and that pets are part of the healing process etc... We should not forget them...

I believe there is some chatting going on.... As we are also hoping to get teh best bang for dollars, as to who the $$ are given to.

If you could provide contact details etc I would be happy to pass this on and it may be some or all of what we raised...

    Happy Valentines Day Everyone!

In my cache of fantastic goodies that I received with the Instant Auction No. 3, I ended up being the lucky recipient of two Rattleware Handleless Jugs.

Now, rather than be a Jug-Hugger, I though about donating it to the next Instant Auction, however with the tragedies and tribulations happening down south, I though the more appropriate thing just this once would be to hold a silent auction for the spare Jug and donate all proceeds to the Victorial Bush Fire & Queensland Floodings Animal Appeal.  This Appeal is slightly different to the norm in that the money will go to the aid and care and equipment of injured wildlife in the Victorian Bushfires and the Queensland Floods.

    The Rules:-

    1.  PM me by no later than 12.00pm tomorrow with your bid.

    2.  The highest bidder wins and I will make the announcement tomorrow afternoon.

    3.  I will send the winning bidder the RW Jug by Express Post as soon as the money has cleared into my account.

    4.  I will then put the money into the special Defence Credit Union account set up to go to the Wildlife Carers in Victoria and Queensland (set up by a Wildlife Carer at work in the RAAF so that the money will go directly to the animals, rather than get lost in fees and admin costs).

    4.  If there are two highest bids of the same amount, then the first bid received will win.

I hope you see it, as I do, as a worthwhile cause - I was just going to put it into the Bushfire Appeal, but I thought that everyone had been so generous with that already, so thought Id funnel it into the Animal Appeal instead.  Also, this way some of the money will also be redirected up to North Queensland (my old stamping grounds) to help those animals that are affected by flooding.

    Start the bidding!

    ;D

    Cheers

Di, I like your comments and the fact that we do recognise that disasters affect the community in many ways...

Many studies clearly show that bonding with pets help us recover from traumatic events...

Pets are an important part of the healing process and as they can not help themselves and their love is unconditional... I feel it is a great cause.
