Hi CSers,
I had a couple of tampers custom made for my Bezzera BZ07 a couple of weeks ago, thought it would be nice to have two, but Ive ended up using only one and the other one is just sitting in my cupboard, so I thought Ill let it go.
So BZ07 users, this ones for you!! Being custom made, Ive made it to fit my basket, with only 0.1mm allowance. It tamps beautifully, I get my tamp first time, every time (the weight of about 780 grams helps too).
Its machined out of a solid stainless steel bar, a bit extreme I know, but that means no gaps for coffee grounds to get stuck in and it just looks cool 8-). Ive used 316 stainless steel, which is suitable for even harsh marine environments. The coffee tamp surface is machined to 0.8 microns, a very nice smooth finish for an excellent tamping surface.
Ive had it machined with a knob to prevent it slipping from the hand, and my index and middle finger fits between the head and the knob very comfortably.
$50 is my asking price considering the quality stainless and all the machining work. If you are not a BZ07 user and are interested, let me know if you want to meet up - I bring the tamper, you bring your basket. If you want delivery, you have to pay the cost, but I cant guarantee that it will fit your basket.
