Thanks 2mcm! Unfortunately upgraditis hits far too often... which Im sure you can identify with. I seem to remember a post where you were upgrading your machine as well. 8-)Absolute bargain Tim....
Watch out for burn marks as this baby is wrenched from your grip ;D

Absolute bargain Tim....Originally posted by 42574C434356514057250 link=1239776171/0#0 date=1239776171Hi,
Up for sale is an Expobar Office Control (non-plumbed) which I purchased secondhand July last year. After purchasing it, I sent it to Expobar Australia for a full checkup and service which cost me around $250 and since then my regular routine is:
- Water blackflush at the end of every day
- Cafetto backflush every 2 weeks
- Descale every 4 months (even though I use Brita filtered water 100% of the time)
Its a fantastic machine and a great upgrade if youre planning to move from a single boiler machine such as the Rancilio Silvia or Gaggia Classic.
My last machine prior to this was the Silvia and I remember having to:
1) Temp surf to the right brewing temperature
2) Pull the shot
3) Wait for the steam
4) Steam the milk
5) If more coffees needed, then wait for the boiler to reach brewing temperature and back to step 1 again :-[
No more waiting! It can easily handle a small party waiting for coffees as it can brew & steam at the same time. Youll find the machine more than capable of good microfoam and latte art even by a novice such as myself as shown in the attached image.
Included with the machine will be:
- Single & Double Portafilters
- Single & Double Baskets
- Coffee scoop
- User Manual
Machine Features:
- Programmable 1 and 2 cup volumetric controls but there is also a manual button (Many here will probably use the manual button, I loved the auto stop as it let me pour & steam milk without having to watch the shot all the time - especially if making coffees for a party)
- Mechanical pre-infusion that can be turned on and off
- Automatic backflush mode where you press a button and it will start the pump for a few seconds, turn if off for a few seconds, and do this around 5 times
- Separate Hot water tap
- Anti-vacuum valve (unlike the Nuova Simonelli Oscar, you can put this machine on a timer)
- Auto refill of the boiler (unlike the Silvia, the boiler refills so the boiler cant run dry)
- No flip switches to accidentally leave on if the machine is on a timer
It retails for around $2000 and I will be selling it for $1175 (with original steam wand). For an additional $50, you can have the no-burn steam wand I purchased from Expobar Australia which I will put on the machine for you (worthwhile investment as it helps prevent milk burning on the wand as well as allowing you to reposition the wand easily while steaming).
I am located in South Yarra (around a 10 minute drive from Melbourne CBD) and anyone is very welcome to view and test the machine before choosing to buy it.
Cheers,
Tim
