Re: FS: M4D Grinder
I think if you applied one or more of the Rocky "Stepless" mods that are listed elsewhere, youd need a very good palate to be able to pick the difference. The Rocky is no slouch when properly setup, and with all the slack taken out of the adjustment collar thread. Worth trying before parting with a wad of cash.... Sorry "peppino"Originally posted by 60637070676E020 link=1245162798/19#19 date=1246093945Just a question if I may. Would I notice a large improvement over my doserless rocky stepping up to this grinder?
All that being said though, the M4D is in that category of grinders that make rather nice heirlooms, itll still be going strong long after you lose the strength to pick up an empty Group Handle...

Re: FS: M4D Grinder
I noticed a small but definite improvement in the more subtle flavours in the brew when I moved from a Rocky to an M4D. I doubt the word "large" applies, although that depends on your finances and your tastes.

Re: FS: M4D Grinder
Hi Kosmo, you bet me to it !
This is a stepped collar type adjustment with a half moon button. The steps are that close that the difference in grind quality between steps is absolutely minimal.

That looks identical to my stepped M4DOriginally posted by 595259414A570D0F380 link=1245162798/15#15 date=1245860681This one seems to have a collar that one moves manually. Is it stepped or stepless?
press the half moon button and turn the collar
I cant believe this grinder has not been snapped up yet

Re: FS: M4D Grinder
I notice the grind adjustment is different from my Macap M4D. Mine is stepless with a worm-drive adjuster at the rear. This one seems to have a collar that one moves manually. Is it stepped or stepless?
