For sale - Breville Ikon Espresso Machine

Just over two years old, this machine is in good condition, having produced on average 4 shots a weekend.  Included is a Krups non-pressurised filter basket, naked group handle (in addition to standard unit that has not been used) and Pullman Deluxe Tamper base.

Not included are the original pressurised filter baskets, it is recommended that you source these if the machine is not to be used with a decent grinder.

I will separate the Krups non-pressurised filter basket, naked group handle and Pullman Deluxe Tamper base if their is interest.

Unfortunately it is base only, I have a custon handle that I will be keeping for my new machine.

you might want to mention base diameter then? is it 53mm?

The base was specifically sized to fit the Krups basket, which is nominally 53mm from memory.

Yes, it has been a very good machine to learn on.

Not wanting to persuade business away from any of the site sponsors, but I recently found that the Rancilio Silvia (& Rocky) is available at the Qantas Frequent Flyer store.

Cashing in some unused points was more acceptable to her indoors as my coffee obsession budget has recently been reduced ;D

Some of the more seasoned members may be able to give a more thorough explanation, but I see it as a training tool to quickly show problems with grind/dosing/tamping.

By seeing how the coffee is being extracted, you can get a clearer idea of what is actually happening, and make more informed changes to your technique.

Update:

Bottomless group handle, Krups filter basket and Pullman base have been sold. I am now selling the basic machine (with all standard accessories) for $150.

If there is no interest this week I will be forced to offer it up to the unwashed masses at the evil place.
