  • !!SOURCED!!: 58mm tamper

Hey was wondering if anyone has a 58mm tamper laying around that is currently not being used.

Brand is of no real concern, i have a SB 6900 with the 0480 grinder at home and am unsure if a 100.00 tamper will  make any real difference over the sunbeam version so was hoping to get ahold of a cheap but better tamper to give it a whirl.

I live in Ipswich West of brisbane if thats any help

Now i have no expectations but if someone was willing to lend me a tamper for a few weeks i would be happy to place a bond on it to ensure its safe return.

I just dont want to waste money if its not going to improve my coffee.

On the same matter my grandfather is a wood working genious so condition isnt a huge factor as i was looking at pimping it out as well as my machine.

    Cherrs fellow CSs

Actually the SB tamper aint that bad.... certainly a lot better than the Sylvia tamper!!! lol

One of Greg Pullmans would be great though. His idea of making a tamper for your baskets or buying new baskets from him with a matching tamper is excellent.

A good tamper will help with feel but in the end its just pressure and the SB can make great coffee, if the beans and grind good!

A decent Tamper will also help with developing consistency too, as it is just easier to use. Id suggest taking your Sunbeam Baskets with you on a visit to Barazis. They will be able to help you out with a decent enough tamper to get you going....

Sure Mal I meant that good feel would improve consistency.
