  • !!SOLD!! Two Faemas and two freebies

    http://coffeesnobs.com.au/YaBB.pl?num=1205799779/34#34

ok so machine numero uno is the one mentioned in the above thread. New group seal, whole machine disassembled and de-scaled, soaked in solution and cleaned back to the bone about one year ago. Didn’t have a crazy amount of use after the cleanup and resto due to the ol’ upgrade scenario.

This frame and drip tray has a hole in it, as it sat beside my sink and simply ran off thru a drain hose. Easy fix to plug/glue it up if you wanted to. The drip tray is tiny by the way. When hitting brew switch is creating a clicking sound.  Hot water wand is working fine. Haven’t tried cranking up the steam to see if that works. Some rust and paint peeling off around various parts especially down the bottom where water has been. Reckon there’s something dodgy with the solenoid and wouldn’t take all that much to make him all better. I just haven’t a need for this machine and therefore can’t be stuffed fixing it up myself. Matching handle with double basket included of course.

The other Faema is one I found on the side of the road, and she works! There seems to be no issues with pump or heating elements. Obviously it’s blocked as all heck and needs a thorough cleaning up. Will need some new seals and a good clean up. Haven’t pulled shots through it. My suggestion would be to swap the solenoid from the dirty unit into the resto’ed unit, and I reckon that would solve the clicking problem in the resto’ed unit. But maybe you have better ideas, like Sparky’s Franken Faema or the other dude who PID’ed his. Wish I would have. There’s something charming about this unit.

Anyway, I am saying 130 coins for both. I realise that there’s some work involved in getting either one to function beautifully and that’s why the price is where it’s at.

I’m also giving away two krups espresso machines which would be around 5 years old and have been tucked under my bed for prob two years. Pumps still working, help yourself to all the handles and non-pressurised but odd baskets. Pickup only thank you madame/sir. Free, yes free.

I have a Faema family and have loved it for many years - unfortunately I need parts and would dearly love the parts in yours (the cases are even the same colour!).

Sadly I am in Perth. If I find someone heading west by road from Melb. Ill PM.
