Yes its best to let it warm up. I usually have mine on a timer that turns it on about 1/2 hour before I want to use it.

it says to warm it up for 45mins to an hour before use....is that just a recommended thing or mandatory

30 min is usually fine, though you can speed it up with some flushing and tea towel over the group head if youre desperate.

No Tony, this model is an HX machine (heat exchange) which means the RRP is roughly $1000 more than the model in your link.
