Machine has now been paid for and picked up.
Apologies to those who missed out, I know there are some disappointed people. I tried to be as fair as I could and wasnt going to sell it to the highest bidder as its against site policy.

Yes I tend to jump into things with both feet. However unlike previous fleeting obsessions this one is here to stay. Re: ECM Giotto
A great buy for any CSér looking to make that all important step up...Originally posted by 2D2C26352B2E34470 link=1273676677/0#0 date=1273676677....
WHY SELLING
Since I started my coffee journey around 15 months ago I have bought around 10 machines and 9 grinders. Just obsessed with acquiring equipment I guess. Many of these have been onsold to friends and CS members once Im confident of their condition. Normally I break even or lose money. Am trying to decide where to go next in my coffee journey and considering a PV Lusso. Once the Giotto is gone I still have 4 other machines to choose from, not to mention 2 x Zazzenhaus grinders, plungers, Aeropress, etc. Eventual plan is to buy a 2 group commercial but cant do that until the ktichen is renovated which is a long way away.

I concur as to the PV Lusso; as the next step etc, will be interesting to try and master the other processes.
[edit]Thanks 2mcm - was about to do the same.[/edit]

!!SOLD!! ECM Giotto
After much contemplation Ive decided to part with my ECM Giotto. I purchased this machine via the bay of evil a little under a year ago. I had it serviced & descaled by Coffee Craft who assured me it was in great condition. Since then its been used on weekends and maybe one morning during the week (I can usually hang out until I get to work for my first shot).
Just recently the control box died on me and I had it replaced at a cost of $330. Apparently this is not an uncommon problem in these machines but the next owner will have the peace of mind of knowing they’re unlikely to have this issue any time soon. Receipts can be provided for the PCB replacement and service from Coffee Parts.
Another descale was recently performed. The OPV has been adjusted to 9bar using Greg Pullman’s pressure gauge and the boiler pressure usually sits just over 1.1bar (according to the gauge on the machine).
According to the label below the machine is a 2004 build. The previous owner told me he bought it in 2005 and stopped using it in 2008 when he got a 2 group commercial put in his home (I had a ristretto made on this machine when I went to pick up the Giotto).
The cosmetic condition of the machine is very good and my (lack of) photographic skills do not do it justice.
PRICE
$1600 including a Rattleware tamper which is virtually brand new ($59.95)
Am willing to consider offers particularly if you’re not interested in the tamper but please keep it sensible & fair.
SHIPPING
Im located in Adelaide. Naturally local buyers are more than welcome to come and have a play.
Im happy to ship interstate HOWEVER I will only do so on a small pallet. I will ensure the machine is extremely well packed. I can also arrange the courier and add this to the sale price. I WILL NOT take responsibility for any damage done during transit and would strongly encourage insurance. Id imagine cost of shipping thru e-go would be ~$40-60 to major cities. There will be no charge for the packaging materials or pallet.
I will give preference to local buyers rather than on a first come first serve basis.
