!!SOLD!! San Marino CK Compact One Group HX Machine - Sydney

For sale is my San Marino as described above.  This is a vibration pump machine which can be plumbed in or used with the tank.  I have used with the tank only.  The machine is excellent condition and comes with a portafilter with a la marzocco double basket included plus pipes etc for plumbing in if necessary.

The machine is perfect working order, recently serviced with a manly based coffee service company.  

Dimensions are approximately 35cm wide, 40cm deep and 40cm high.  The tank is approximately 2lt and the element is a 1300watt element.
I recently had this listed here and my posting disappeared mysteriously...but here it is again

I am looking for around $900 which I think is a cracking price

Oh yeah...reason for sale, bought a Giotto because of all the hype.  Personally I dont notice a difference with the coffee...my wfe would say the San Marino is better, I would say they are pretty much the same...feel free to disagree

Shipping - I would prefer Sydney collection, I am in Frenchs Forest and a bit pressed for time to pack it all up...but I may be able to look into the cost

you can use "pack and send" courier. I think the costs, insurance included should not be more than $200.

I just had a machine shipped from Melbourne to Perth with e-go.
They were less expensive and arrived in perfect condition.

Is this still for sale? i was thinknig about buying a silvia, but saw your machine on here and would love to get HX if i can...

As i thought they were out of my price range, i havnt really researched the HX machines much...

so, some questions:

How long does it take to warm up before you can use?
how is it for just steaming milk (sometimes i just want a hot chocolate!)?
Do they require more maintanace that a boiler machine?
what kind of grinder would you recommend to go with this? (my total budget is probably about $1500 at the absolute most!)

Sorry for the onslaught of questions, ive only just started to look at buying a new machine and this site has raised more questions that i ever thought i would have!

Thanks for the questions...the machine is still for sale. The machine takes about 10 minutes to heat up, it has quite a powerful element. The steam pressure is excellent. This is basically a home version of a commercial espresso machine in that it has a boiler and HX setup. We (actually only my wife) have used it for hot chocolates too, ie we turn on the machine, wait 10 mins for steam pressure to build up and then texture milk for the hot chocolates...beautiful. This machine is a big step up from a Silvia because you can extract coffee and steam at the same time.

In terms of maintenance, this machine needs good cleaning like any coffee machine and I would recommend a service once a year.

In terms of a grinder, you budget leaves you enough to get a terrific grinder and I would recommend you get the best you can afford. For $600 there are a few Mazzers available. Worth the money, your coffee will go to another level provided you get the other variables right.

The machine weighs around 27kg....might be a bit much for carry on but I can arrange postage if you like

Hmm maybe if I put it in a box that is for something light and dont make out that its heavy it may pass! haha! Where abouts is Frenchs Forest? Ill be staying in wollstonecraft... how away from the city are you Cheers
