Only a couple of shots in with the Major and its for sale already!!
Even on the finer settings on the kitchen aid (fastest speed) youd be chopping the beans and the brew wont be nice.
Mft, If this is certainly a psychological problem you wife has, then i am sorry for you.
If this is something you threw money around out of impulse and there was not much research and road testing before the purchase, then you deserve whats coming.
Have you tried different settings on the grinder before putting it up for sale? Id try to do that before selling it. We dont want you to regret it later, as the MM Major is a mighty fine investment.
Otherwise, this is not a bad buy for a CSer whos interested.

What I think MFT is saying is that the larger Mazzer Major takes up more room than his previous grinder, thus taking away bench space from his wifes Kitchen Aid.  I really dont think he is comparing the quality of the grind to that of the Kitchen Aid with a grinding attachment.

$200 off retail price and its only done a couple of shots, good buy id reckon if anyones interested. Theyd last many years.

Id reckon some equipment validation photos wouldnt hurt either - given the value involved...

For example, photos of the machine and a close-up of the nameplate, plus photo of the purchase receipt which displays the date, machine ID and vendors name (other details can be blurred out). Cant be too careful in my opinion.... :-?

Agreed, given a brand new RRP of under $2.1k inc GST ($1.9k ex. GST) and 2 shots in the 2 months or so which you have owned it, its essentially brand new and very much borderline as far as site sales and posting policy is concerned.

As you can see it is considerably larger than the mini-e, which my wife prefers.

Sorry for being off topic. I just had to say im well and truly gobsmacked at the sight of two Mazzers in a domestic household.
Ok, well... :-? i can now understand your other half prefering the mini-e. Why you bought the Major i cant fathom when the mini-e does the same quality grind as the Major.
