Hi,
Im starting to get the hang of roasting in my PIDd popper.
Problem is Its hard to judge the beans when theyve been ground by a whirling blade spice grinder.
So, Im looking for a grinder that will give me a consistent, fine espresso grind for my sunbeam EM4800, and whatever I replace it with one day.
My wife drinks about one coffee a month and we are saving for a house deposit so I dont have the budget for a good grinder (cue violins) -unless I can buy a broken one and fix it.
Does anybody have a decent grinder with some kind of problem I can fix or tolerate? I can fix electricals, bypass broken electronic controls, make a hopper or dispenser, put up with coffee mess etc. I only care about the grind.
Have you got an old grinder lying around that you couldnt throw away and couldnt sell easily? Or do you know someone who has?
Looking to pay around $100 or so...
Thanks,
Conan
