Re: 4-Sale: Diadema Junior Extra in Perfect Condition...
Im thinking very carefully.... Only had my sunbeam for a few months but this would be a machine I could keep long term.
Do you have any links or direction for me to learn more of the mods you have done Mal? Id like to know a bit more about the unique value adding changes made.

Re: 4-Sale: Diadema Junior Extra in Perfect Condition...
I get the feeling a lot of new machine buyers are hanging out to see just how good the Breville is.
Even if the 900 lives up to every expectation this piece of kit is a class above IMO and I have no doubt it is in outstanding condition.
Good luck with the sale Mal.

Re: 4-Sale: Diadema Junior Extra in Perfect Condition...
One more week to go (or thereabouts) and then the lovely DJE is advertised privately...
I would much prefer that a CSer becomes the next owner though, as is probably obvious by the discounted sell price.
If the cost of freight is an issue, I might be persuaded to help out a little with this aspect. If the prospect of damage during freight is a concern, well there is always insurance plus Ive packaged everything up to be as indestructible as is reasonably practical (photo below).
Looking forward to hearing from the next owner of this wonderful espresso machine....

Re: 4-Sale: Diadema Junior Extra in Perfect Condition...
Saw this thread this morning and am surprised to see Mals as new DJE is still available.
If I hadnt bought my GPP last September then a PM would have already been sent.
Anyone who has followed Mals threads will know what a fastidious CSer he is and this will be a great pick up for someone.

Wow Mal,
A great machine and even better than brand new.
This is a terrific bargain for a CSer in the right place at the right time.
Its a no brainer for anyone looking at a top end HX machine.
Good luck with the sale!

!!SOLD!!: Diadema Junior Extra in Perfect Condition...
Well....
Time to let my ever reliable and treasured Diadema "Junior Extra" go, so that another CSer can reap the rewards of having consistently excellent espresso at their fingertips, the same as Ive been doing these past couple of years.
Some of you may already be acquainted with her from this review I completed, a short time after getting her set up on the kitchen bench-top....
http://coffeesnobs.com.au/YaBB.pl?num=1163235000/38#23
She is just over two years old...
She has recently been serviced and is ready to churn away reliably for her new owner. Theres no sign of scale build-up starting up anywhere since shes always been used with filtered water via a Bombora Water Filter System. The Total Dissolved Solids have never been allowed to get higher than 40ppm - Its almost shiny inside the Boiler and hydraulic circuits.... 8-)
Of course, there have been a couple of improvements made along the way.... :
1) The Boiler is fully insulated. If for any reason some service work on or near the Boiler becomes necessary, the insulation is easily removable and easily refitted.
2) The Pressurestat has been upgraded to SSR operation of the Heating Element Current. Heavy currents have been diverted away from the Gicar Control Box so that only the low Control Voltage current is switched both through the Gicar box and the Pressurestat Micro-switch. There will be no need to replace the Pressurestat for many years and probably only when the diaphragm starts to lose flexibility. Ditto for the Gicar Control Box, particularly the internal relays....
3) Wiring associated with the above modifications is High Temperature Silicone Rubber Insulated cable, and installed and tested by a licensed electrician .
4) Not a Mod exactly but knowing the fastidious nature of fellow CoffeeSnobs, I removed all the stainless steel panelling from my new Dual Boiler Diadema, and swapped this over for the original "Extra" panelling. 8-)
This way, the purchaser gets to buy a machine that, on the surface at least, looks brand spanking new. Im as picky about "the finish" as the next person but it is something special, to open up the box and drool over all that gleaming, polished stainless steel and know that not a single cup has touched the Drip Tray or the Cup Warming tray. Everything just gleams. In fact, there are still a couple of bits of the protective film still stuck here and there, Ill let you clean those off.... :P
5) Last but not least and still not a Mod... Rather than give you the Group Handles, Filter Baskets, etc that Ive been using with her from new, Ive put the box with all those goodies inside straight from the New DB Diadema. Theyre all Brand New and never been used.
Rightio, how much do I need to allow some lucky CSer convince me to part with her? Bearing in mind that these beauties retail for just under $3,000.00 these days.
She is all boxed up and strapped to a small pallet (the one my new machine arrived on) waiting to be picked up.
Sell price is $2,095.00 (not negotiable) plus courier costs if necessary.
Prefer that potential buyers PM me direct.... 8-)
Cheers All,
Mal.Tags: None
