Hi guys,
Now that I roast for work and am moving house, ive decided to finally part ways with my beloved home roaster, "Potchka".
The whole unit is housed inside a bain-marie frame. It consists of a Metabo HE-2000 heat gun, a retort stand, a rewired palsonic bread machine with modded agitators, as well as a cooling fan/tray installed inside the frame which cools 500g of coffee in well under 2 mins. Theres a hole for placing a thermocouple in the bean mass, and im considering selling the datalogger and dedicated roasting laptop as well.
I had been using it regularly to roast 500g batches of espresso roast that was being sold to local cafes and buyers. It is capable of roasting 800g+, but is most easily controlled at the 500g mark.
It is possible to comfortably hit first crack at or before 10 mins on this roaster, and have espresso roasts complete in 13 mins. There is great flexibility and repeatibility with this set-up. Ive been repeating roast profiles basically to the degree, and have been achieving very close cup results.
Ive also got around 15-20 kilos of top notch specialty coffee from various origins to throw in.
Im based in the inner-west of Sydney. Im more than happy to run through a couple of roasts with whoever grabs it.
$700 negotiable, including laptop, all other equipment and 15-20 kilos of specialty coffee (around $300 worth). The containers under the roaster plus various other small accessories are included too.
Please ask any/many questions.
Tuli - 0400228890.
Ill miss you Potchka.
