Hi all,
Bought this combo from another member around 1.5 years ago (I think), and never really got it going.
The Imat was in poor condition, scratched and seemingly not used for a while but left with coffee grinds in it. I stripped it completely, descaled the boiler, replaced the gasket, cleaned inside and out, polished chassis etc. and it now doesnt look too bad.
However, there are a few problems:
[list bull-blackball][*]Light on the power switch is gone, I had to rewire the switch panel to bypass the light in order for it to turn on[*]Leaking from the shower screen. Could be tension of the screw, or a shrunken gasket (I suspect the well-known Melbourne parts supplier wasnt very helpful in selling me the right one).[*]Shower screen itself appears to be clogged, I tried the singe-all-the-crap technique but its still clogged. Im not sure this is the original shower screen either, it doesnt look the one Ive seen in pictures of the Imats online.[/list]
The EM0480 I dont think is much better, I have never managed to get a consistent grind. I recall taking a close look at the burrs during cleaning one day and thinking they looked a bit jagged and in need of replacement.
Im open to any offers, including those of advice on repair! Id really like to keep the machine but am short of time since the arrival of my now 9 month old daughter.
