  • !!SOLD!! EM0480 grinder. 58mm Rattleware tamper

Due to a recent bout of upgrade-itis (which has cost me around $2K!), Im selling off my EM0480 grinder and 58mm stainless steel tamper. Only put about 1kg of coffee through this grinder (which is pretty much seasoning the burrs) and the 58mm Rattleware tamper is pretty hefty and in excellent condition. The grinder produces a good grind for espresso machines, and is considered the entry level for home grinders. Both are about 2 months old, and the grinder has a 5 year motor warranty. Receipt for grinder from David Jones.

Looking for $120 for the grinder, and $30 for the tamper. Can show its in working order if picking up. Would prefer not to post grinder, but if the price is right...

what does that have to do with the sale of this unit? I was grinding on setting "4" last week on my EM0480... until I shimmed it more.

I was actually grinding on 9 with this one, but I mustve moved it during cleaning or something. someones got an eye for detail!!!

Edit: looks like the tamper is sold to Hooked, grinder still available...

With all the posts on here in recent months about EM0480s that grind like woodcutters even down at 0, Id be very wary of a unit that is set so low, and being sold so soon after purchase.

The simple explanation that it was rotated during cleaning is the sort of reassurance a potential purchaser will be looking for.

What! So a person isnt allowed to upgrade and on-sell their original hardware?

Dont think your post is appropriate "versatile" and it would appreciated if all posts can be kept solely relevant to the sale of this item,

                  Thanks,
                  Mal.

                    1. The Sunbeam recommended setting for espresso is 12-16
                    2. There have been numerous threads from people who have purchased an EM0480 in recent months saying they cant get a decent grind even down at setting 0, requiring them to contact Sunbeam support for spacer kits.
                    3. This unit has been purchased in recent months and is displayed at a very low setting, near the Turkish range.
                    4. A user rather arrogantly asks in one sentence what the low setting has to do with the sale of the unit, and in the next sentence says he had to shim his more, presumably to improve the grind.

I would suggest that in this context, the post is not only "appropriate", but also "solely relevant" to any potential purchaser who has perhaps not read all the EM0480 threads pertaining to grinders of similar age to this one.

The seller posted a simple explanantion as to the grind setting.

I know this is Coffee Snobs, and a Moderator can choose whatever tone he wishes, but it would be appreciated if you had read all of what I had posted before shooting off such a flame.
