  • !!SOLD!! Silvia for sale

    OK,

So I was going to be a good boy and wait until after Christmas before carefully evaluating 2 different machines, looking at their pros and cons, objectively judging how they handled different aspects of the coffee making process, what features each possesed and so on.

    OR....

I could just buy the demo Minore II that Chris had for sale.

Can you guess which one happened?

So, my Silvia is now up for sale.
    $500

I bought it new from Mocopan in Melbourne in August 2004.
    Comes with all original accessories.
    1 group handle
    1 double basket
    1 single basket
    1 crappy plastic tamper
    1 long scoop
    Manual/cerificate
    Box it came in

    PLUS
Group seal kit (unopened) purchased new from Sienna Coffee.
    http://www.siennacoffee.com.au/groupsealkit.htm

The machine has averaged about 4 coffees a day.
Gets a water backflush every week (since 2005 when I got the courage to do it!).
Shower screen removed and group, baskets cleaned regularly (monthly at most).
Detergent (espresso cleaner) backflush every month.
Some very minor marks in the SS finish in various places, but I think it still looks good.

Would prefer if buyer picks it up (Wheelers Hill - Melbourne), but will post it if required.
Specs state that it is 15kg with packaging.
Auspost website gives an approx cost of $30 for:
    Regular Parcel
    Registered
    Additional insurance (extra $400)

Please PM me if you are interested.

    The whole shebang.

    And from another angle.

    And from the side

    And the bits included

    The group

The shower screen - complete with marks on the screw where it was too tight!

    Re: Another.. Silvia for sale

    A couple of other things:

Its only ever had filtered water put through it. You can see the Brita jug in the background of the side on photo.

Ive never done a de-scale. I had the cirtric acid in case I needed to, but have never actually done it.

Also, as pointed out by someone in a PM to me, my estimate of 4 coffees a day would have meant wed consumed around 3000 from the Silvia. Whilst Im sure Ive made a bunch of coffees on it, that figure is probably a bit high. Perhaps around 1500 in 26 months.

Hi FatBoy. Are you (nad the Silvia) in Melbourne or Sydney? I am in the latter and if you are too, then I am interested.

      Cheers,
      Paul

Yep, at $530 delivered, this looks like a very good deal. Of course, poor Brett will have to do all the work of boxing it up!
