The time has come for my Napoletana to move on. The *only* reason Im selling this machine is because it does not have 58mm filter baskets, and presently whenever I want to trial a new product I have to make a 57mm version for my machine, try it out, and if it works then make a 58mm version and send it away to my top secret testing lab in Melbourne for formal testing. For my needs the machine is quite satisfactory and I would gladly keep it if the baskets were 1mm larger!
Anyway theyre not so here we go. The vital statistics on the brewing side of things are:
It is very similar to the Silvia under the hood. In terms of performance compared to Silvia, I can do little better than to quote from Alan Frews website:
"In terms of brewing ability both machines will produce an espresso that is better than 99% of commercial operators can manage, given good beans and a well trained owner, but the espressos from the Silvia are slightly sweeter and fuller bodied than those from the Mokita. Add milk and the difference is undetectable to my palate."
The great thing about this machine is that it has an integrated Lux grinder, which means:
The machine comes with:
The machine is about 4 years old and has only had light use. This has consisted of, on average, one double basket of coffee per day. Some days it may go for two weeks unused, other times when friends visit etc it may make 10 cups in one session. Have used filtered water (Brita) since the early days. Cosmetically it is in very good condition; there are a few minor scratches on the bodywork but nothing major. The nature of the black printing on the front panel is such that it tends to flake off after a while; I think the first time I wiped it with Windex some started to come away so Ive been pretty careful since then. Its not significant enough to prevent one from seeing what theyre supposed to be, and in any case since there are only a couple of switches there it doesnt take too long to learn which is which! I think just now (for the purpose of this ad) was the first time Ive looked at the printing since about 3 weeks after I bought it. Anyway the picture below does justice to this point.
The new cost for this machine is $710. Asking price for this one in factory guise is $485, after which you can add any configuration of tampers and diffuser discs you wish to option on at very competitive rates. Picture shown below includes Vanilla tamper which is one of these options.
PM or e-mail me for any enquiries. Definitely a Christmas bargain!

The great thing about this machine is that it has an integrated Lux grinder, which means:
- you dont have to buy a grinder separately - one purchase not two
- it takes up less bench space than a discrete machine and grinder
- it only uses one power point
- its simpler to shift and set up if you ever need to take it away
- all the above points give it a higher W/PAF (Wife/Partner Approval Factor)
The machine comes with:
- Portafilter
- Single and double filter baskets
- New group gasket
- New steam wand o-ring
- New heavy duty portafilter spouts (2 months old)
- Original box and manual
- Froth enhancer and crema disk (dont use these, I never have!)
