  • !!SOLD!! La Cimbali Cadet grinder

Up for grabs, one fantastic La Cimbali Cadet.

    Features:

Infinite stepless adjustment via worm gear mechanism
Doser and auto-grind after 6 pulls of the doser.
64mm burrs make pretty short work of the beans, it isnt on for very long.
    7.5kg/hr

    Height x Depth x Width (mm) = 470x360x225

Is built like a tank and weighs approx 12kg.

    My notes:
The dosing vanes clean the dosing chamber very cleanly. Very likely to be your last grinder.and will definately last a lifetime in a home setting. Recently given the whole machine a once over....burrs in good nic.

Pickup or delivery in convenient location in Melbourne only due to size and weight.

PM or email dseng86_@@_msn.com if interested. (Replace _@@_ with a single @)
Phone: zero401913534 before 11am weekdays as I have work or after 8pm.

La Cimbali is on the left in the photo.

Im surprised this is still for sale....

They are a magnificent grinder with extremely fine adjustment and will last forever....

If there is anyone looking for a top notch espresso grinder ---- IMHO you wont find much better (almost identical to my La Cimbali Jnr)

        Re: La Cimbali Cadet grinder

Money issues just before Christmas keeps me from purchasing it, that may be the reason for a slow sale...
Maybe put a red and green bow around it and market it to the kiddies.

I Bet it will sell soon.

        Best tmid.

This grinder is the big brother of the Junior if Im not mistaken. Very good machine....parting with it to make way for a mazzer mini...but just as happy to keep it and have it side by side with the mini...in fact....i wouldnt be surprised if this grinder kicks minis ass....

truly infinite adjustment...it takes quite a big turn of the knob for the worm mechanism to move the burr carrier by the slightest!!

Yep- it has the taller hopper (which can be cut down or replaced if under bench height is a problem) and it has the auto grind feature - otherwise it is the same.

i wouldnt be surprised if this grinder kicks minis ass....
Well in some testing in the states the La Cimbali Jnr was rated as the best espresso only grinder in this class (small commercial) - so I wouldnt be surprised either.

And replacement burrs (if the purchaser ever requires them - unlikely in normal use) are readily available from CoffeeParts -and are cheap

If it was Sydney based and not so close to Christmas....

Keep bumping the thread, someone who doesnt get a grinder from Santa might be interested in a couple of weeks.

Hey freight isnt that expensive (I use BusFreight when transporting large or heavy items interstate and their prices are good).

The item rides in the hold of the bus with the passenger luggage so gets a real comfortable ride.... they specialise in fragile items as well.....

So for a great grinder at a good price - dont let the location bother you! I regularly buy items over east and have em shipped to Perth.

One thing that is definitely better than the Mazzer is the doser. It sweeps cleaner and drops the grounds straight down into the filter basket, rather that flinging them off to the left as Mazzer dosers do.

While the Cadet has an autofill feature, it is not an isue for home use where you grind what you need. The on/off switch is all you need and you forget the autofill feature is even there. The autofill flap does make it hard to clean out the chute though (but not impossible).

Looks an enormous beast! If only Id known about this before I bought my Compak and Mazzer Mini! Maybe I could have three grinders, capable of processing about 30kg of coffee per hour between them, for the two cups a day I make! :

                            Re: La Cimbali Cadet grinder

Might be interested in this machine as an upgrade from the iberital challenge. Would i actually notice any difference compared to my iberital?

I only make maybe 1-2 coffees a day so this is probably major over kill

How much coffee needs to be in the dosing chamber for it to actually spit out some grinds into the basket? Or can u grind however much u need for a single/double and just keep flicking the lever till it sweeps most of the grinds out?

Is it easy to clean the dosing chamber? Can it be easily be opened up to give the burs/insides a brush out or to change burrs?

How old is the machine and have u had it since new?

Was it used in a home or commercial environment?

It looks a monster of a thing

                            Thanks

                              Re: La Cimbali Cadet grinder

                              Hey coffee_drinker,

Basically grind what you need for a double...keep on pulling the doser lever until the chamber is empty. The cimbali cleans the chamber really nicely compared to mazzer. I have taken the dosing chamber apart before to give it a nice clean out....easy if you are technically inclined.

As for the burrs, I have cleaned them not so long ago. To get to the burrs:
                              1) remove hopper
                              2) undo worm gear mechanism and unscrew plastic collar from burr carrier (with grind settings)
                              3) rotate CLOCKWISE the burr carrier and youre in....

To get everything back, simply follow the instructions in reverse order

(to screw the burr carrier back in, simply screw it anticlockwise all the way down, and unscrew it 1.5 turns...this will be your zero point)

Machine has some blemishes on it...nothing that will effect operation....used in a home environment.

It is BEAST of a machine to have.....out performs the mazzer super jolly I use at work

                              Cheers,

                              David
