Ahh fair enough. We use Rancilio PFs on our Azkoyens as normal ones wont lock in due to the lowness of the group design.

I have rescued this machine and its now for sale via Talk Coffee with our usual service and warranty provisions! This is a great opportunity to grab a bargain! You will never see a Unico Splendor for $1.9k again

As I drool at this picture of a beautiful machine, one question springs to mind.

How do you go with using large latte glasses, do you extract into a smaller cup then poor it into the larger glass?

I think if you had your avatar engraved in the perspex and edge lighted it the result would look very impressive!

My Macap is definitely sexy.

Heres a side by side comparison.
Cant say the sizes are accurate as Im going on memory for the Rocky.

Which one would you want sitting next to the Splendor?

Damn straight! Dead sexy too. Id be tempted to see if you could edge light the perspex on each side to highlight the badging.

The original E61 machines had a simple neon tube behind the glass panel. It worked a treat.

A couple of questions: Seeing as the Rancilio PF fits and say if a person wanted to upgrade from a Silvia to one of these, would that mean their existing naked PF and ECM double would fit? And would a Rocky be a good match for the Unico or would a grinder upgrade also be required?

Cant see why not, as far as I can see bfc & ecm source their group handles from the same source...the rocky will mate up well enough but Splendor will look much better sitting next to a Macap M4 or M5...its not compulsory but is a better "match". One of my regular clients upgraded from a lesser machine & rocky grinder to one of my Diadema Junior Plus machines and Macap M5 grinder, and and asked me the same question ( could he stay with the rocky). He came in 2 days later just to tell me I was right about upgrading the grinder. It has a better means of adjustment, is quicker, quieter, feels more solid, and looks much more sexy.
