  • !!!SOLD!!! - FS: Vibiemme Domobar Jnr HX

    Hi all,

I am selling my VBM Junior due to a nasty case of upgraditis. I bought it from Di Bartoli in August last year and it has been well looked after, being used to make between 2-3 espresso's a day. It is back-flushed after every session with a chemical back-flush every 2 weeks.

It comes with three portafilters (a single and a double spout and a naked/bottomless) with a blind, single, double and triple baskets.

    Specifications:

A E61 Group head design with a thermosyphon system to regulate brewing water temperature
Heat Exchange technology for simultaneous coffee making and milk steaming
1.45L boiler and 1600W heating element allowing good steam power for multiple cups
2 gauges: one for steam pressure and one for pump pressure
Automatic Boiler refill to protect the heating element
A body in polished stainless steel
Small footprint, fits narrow bench space
Automatic Boiler refill to protect the heating element
    Dimension: 22.50cm (W) x 40cm (H) x 35cm (D)
    Weight: 18kg

    PRICE: 1800ono

It is located in Sydney (Parramatta) I would prefer pick-up but I have all the original packaging so I can ship at buyers expense.

    cheers

    Dave

    Hi Dave

I am in the initial stages of hunting around for a machine like this, but am interested in your view of why upgraditis has set in relatively soon after purchase - is it something in particular with this machine that's caused it? I only ask because i'd be interested in your views on why you want to upgrade from the Junior, and i'm hoping not to have to go through a similar path (EM6910 > VBM Junior > ?). Has anyone else been in the same situation?

    Thanks

    James

      Hi James,

I originally bought the VBM Jnr as the unit I was living in was rented with only a small area available in the kitchen and due to the footprint of the jnr it was ideal for such a small space. Now that I have my own place with a larger kitchen and without overhead cupboards I have my sights on a Bezzera Strega which is much larger and due to being a lever machine needs more head space which I currently have. I also want to plumb the strega in.

I think that the VBM jnr is an excellent machine more than capable of making exceptional coffee and I would be happy to keep it for another 3 or 4 years if I didn't want to change to a lever machine. The reasons for my upgrade are part aesthetic and part a hankering for traditional things and the stega scratches that itch for me.

I previously had a Via Venezia and the different between that and the vbm is huge. I'm definitely not expecting as much of a difference between the vbm and the strega.

      Hope that answers your questions.

      Cheers

      Dave
