I bought this machine a couple of months ago from a family member to play with / fix up.
They purchased the machine new in 2008 and it was used for about 12 months before it became to hard and nespresso upgrade was in order. It was relegated to a hidden corner of the garage until I was made known of its existence. Build date is 01 / 2008, still has original user manual.
Only filtered rainwater was used and I found no evidence of any scale when descaling. I repeatedly back flushed with cafetto followed by clear water and everything is running clean and clear.
I have given it some TLC, just replaced the following parts from site sponser Coffee Parts | Rancilio Silvia Coffee Machines Spare Parts
Group head seal
Water distributor
Shower screen
Shower screen screw
There is no rust and the machine is quite clean inside and out as can be seen in the pictures. There is the usual flaking of the chrome on the group, seems par for the course with these machines.
Comes with cheapo convex SS tamper, standard 500ml SS milk jug and good size knock box.
Stock single and 12g double filter baskets, which IMO are so bad I can see why people loose interest.

Along with Cafelat Pillar Tamper BROWN 58.35mm Flat from CoffeeSnobs - BeanBay - Cafelat Coffee Accessories - Cafelat Pillar Tamper BROWN
and a large conical grinder and the difference in the shots is night and day..get the temp surf right and one can get a very nice shot indeed.
Price is $330 not negotiable as I have just put $30 of parts into it and wish to at least try and break even...
Pick up from 2107, I can possibly deliver to some where in region within reason.
