  • !!!WITHDRAWN!!! - Roaster- Full 400 gram batches- High Quality

A superbly engineered machine with few moving parts. This roaster can evenly roast a full 400g batch and the drum is made of thick heat-proof glass for viewing the progression of the roast easily. It is made of glass with a stainless steel frame and stainless steel motor cover. Has chaff collector at one end. The motor runs on a 12 Volt supply so the electricity consumption is very low- adapter included. It gets to first crack quickly, and the time to first crack, and subsequent second crack, can be controlled by the gas flow from the cyclone gas stove (included) which runs on cheap gas cans available from camping stores. There is a switch which controls the motor which can be used to stop the revolving drum quickly, and restart it quickly during roasts- perfect for stopping and checking on the roast status. It is easy to take apart and clean- see photos. Really well built and low energy consumption this is an ideal roaster for someone who wants to be able to do full evenly roasted 400 gram batches without the high electricity bills.

Price $390. Pick-up preferred from Sydney Northshore but can also be posted at buyer's cost and risk ( I will pack well but no guarantees)

Thanks Hildy- yes, similar, although this one has a larger drum so a 400g uniform batch can be roasted. The video I sent you is it doing 400 grams. It can also be powered from a cigarette lighter as the electric motor runs on 12V DC- great for fresh roasted coffee on extended camping trips, on a boat, caravan , etc.

Note- also includes the unique "cyclone burner" not just your average camping stove. It spreads the flame more evenly across the base of the glass as it spins to give a uniform roast profile

A number of people have PM'd asking how the chaff is handled. There is a small collection chamber at one end which collects around 75% of the chaff per batch. The unit is simply shaken at the end of a cycle and the chaff falls out the open end (one end is openers using a clasp mechanism). Any other chaff is simply blown off during the cooling process.

Also to clarify, this roaster roasts a full 400 gram batch uniformly. This is not a roaster which claims a 400 gram capacity but then only delivers 250 grams. It roasts the full 400gram batch. Price negotiable

How well does it handle smaller batches ?

How well does it agitate the beans, or do you use the fzr method of shaking the baby ?

Hi- it handles smaller batches equally well. I regularly roast 100g batches of SOs. There is no need to shake it as it has stainless steel stirring bars inside as shown in the photos. Offers invited.
