For sale is a Gaggia Classic steam valve assembly that I modified to see if I could stop or reduce the old steam wand drip. It's a well known mod that involves cutting or grinding the end off the main body of the valve so that the spindle can be removed. By doing this you can add an o-ring, but also give the valve a proper clean periodically.
This valve is actually barely used, it's also been cleaned and as you can see I've added an o-ring. The one limitation with this mod is that you have to be careful not to have the steam wand open much, or even at all when the brew switch is on as you could get hot water coming out the end of the valve. The extra o-ring will stop this as long as you don have it open too far, but just be aware of this possibility.
