2mcm did a bit of editing on this one I believe!! He originally had a price of $640 or something...

    GOOD ONE 2MCM!!
Two identical posts and threads were spliced together...No need for multiple threads on for sale items guys - leaving two (identical?) for sale posts....It would seem that Telemaster has deleted the second one- Perhaps a price was in that one....

!!SOLD!!- Quaha Napolitana with or without PID

This machine is a Quaha Napolitana I bought from Greg Pullman recently for one of my children who was going to move into a flat but decided to stay with us. I recently added a CalControls 3200 PID to it after succes Id had with a kit from Jim Gallt. It is not one of Jims kits but a controller hed had excess to needs- it has one of his custom thermocouples and has been installed in similar manner with the some of his high voltage leads. Here is part of Gregs original ad:

_. 1200 Watt Copper Element in 300ml Brass Boiler
    _. 57mm filter baskets
    _. 3 -Way Solenoid Valve
    _. Pump Pressure 12 -15 bar
    _. Water tank capacity 2.5L
_. Enormous 1.3L drip tray (compared to 600mL on Silvia)
    _. Dimensions 340 x 310 x 260 mm
    _. Weight 10.0 kg
_. Body 100% polished Stainless Steel
_. Suitable for office or family use, with enough steam to froth milk for 4 cappuccinos at a time .

It is very similar to the Silvia under the hood. In terms of performance compared to Silvia, I can do little better than to quote from Alan Frews website:
"In terms of brewing ability both machines will produce an espresso that is better than 99% of commercial operators can manage, given good beans and a well trained owner, but the espressos from the Silvia are slightly sweeter and fuller bodied than those from the Mokita. Add milk and the difference is undetectable to my palate."

The great thing about this machine is that it has an integrated Lux grinder, which means:
    _.
_. you dont have to buy a grinder separately - one purchase not two
_. it takes up less bench space than a discrete machine and grinder
_. it only uses one power point
_. its simpler to shift and set up if you ever need to take it away
_. all the above points give it a higher W/PAF (Wife/Partner Approval Factor)

    The machine comes with:
    _.
    _. Portafilter
_. Single and double filter baskets
    _. New group gasket
    _. New steam wand o-ring
_. New heavy duty portafilter spouts (2 months old)
_. Gregs custom diffuser disk- brass (Brett)
_. CalControls 3200 PID from Jim Gallt with custom thermocouple (Brett)
_. Saeco steam tip- superior micro foam with this machine (Brett)
_. Froth enhancer and crema disk (dont use these, I never have!)

The machine is about 4 years old and has only had light use. This has consisted of, on average, one double basket of coffee per day. Some days it may go for two weeks unused, other times when friends visit etc it may make 10 cups in one session. Have used filtered water (Brita) since the early days. Cosmetically it is in very good condition; there are a few minor scratches on the bodywork but nothing major. The nature of the black printing on the front panel is such that it tends to flake off after a while; I think the first time I wiped it with Windex some started to come away so Ive been pretty careful since then. Its not significant enough to prevent one from seeing what theyre supposed to be, and in any case since there are only a couple of switches there it doesnt take too long to learn which is which! I think just now (for the purpose of this ad) was the first time Ive looked at the printing since about 3 weeks after I bought it. Anyway the picture below does justice to this point.

    Back to me
The new cost for this machine is well over $700. Asking price for this one with PID installed with one of Jims custom thermocouples is $630.  The PID makes it really easy to get consistent shots due to easily settable temperature- no more flushing for espresso temp surfing!
I will also sell the Pullman tamper with Jarrah handle Greg made for the machine for $40
    PM me with any enquiries.

    Brett

LOL your kids seem to like home too much!

PID control is a good thing to have on a single boiler machine...no fudging around.
Working...
