I am selling my Australian-made convection roaster. It was designed and built in tasmania by James Fox, an engineer who loves coffee in all its beautiful manifestations. He's only made a handful of these machines, and we wanted to buy local if possible and we have not been disappointed. I've used it for seven years in our small rural cafe near Lismore, roasted three times a week, usually 3.5 kilos per batch. It produced beautiful beans and as it was my first experience of roasting, I found it very easy to get the hang of. Lots of dials and adjustable controls.
It usually took about 30 minutes to roast 3.5 kgs.
We no longer own the cafe and the roaster has been sitting (covered) in our garage for a year or so.
It needs three-phase power.
It comes with a cooling tray at the side. Also a fume extraction device. Also some spare heating elements and a manual.
Asking $5500. New price all up was over $15k.
I am willing to bring it to you and help with installation and training so long as you are not too far away - Sydney is ok.
I will get some photos up shortly.
