  • !!!WITHDRAWN!!! - FS: ACS Vesuvius (Canberra)

Very reluctant sale. Just not getting the full use out of it with regards to pressure profiling. First 9 months I regularly changed profiles however nowadays it remains on the same profile. Will be downgrading to DB or hx machine.

15 months old. Over $6k new.

Both wood and acetal handles included.

Will be packed in wooden crate.

Located in Canberra. Shipping at buyers expense.

    $5000ono

Will post images later on. Will be sad to see her go but want someone to use it as it was meant...

The one time someone posts something shiny in Canberra, we're away on a posting to Sri Lanka! Not really in the market right now, please do keep me posted danebuoy- could be tempted...

Pictures up from iPad. Some minor scratches on drip tray otherwise great condition. Quality build. Will probably regret selling but right now am not using to full potential. At most making 1 or 2 coffees per day, mostly espressos.

To sweeten this already amazing deal, I'll throw in a Pullman tamper.

Someone get on this before I come to my senses and decide to keep this glorious machine.

Geezlouise...Not much more than a new dual boiler. I'm tempted to grab it myself...

                  +1 to Chris' comment above.
Just because it has PP doesn't mean you have to take a 1.5K+ loss, danebouy.

Like Chris says a DB is a DB .... some have bells, some have whistles, some have both, but at the end of the day they are all DB's.

The Vesuvius is a wonderful machine. I fired mine up this morning after being in the midst of a vintage lever frenzy for a while.....and it truly delivers the goods.

Like you, Danebouy, I keep the same profile for my favourite beans. It took a while for me to arrive at this profile but it is the best extraction of the many, many possibilities that I have been able to find for this particular bean that is roasted just the way that I like it most.

Can't help thinking that after selling your current machine for $4500, the changeover in $$ after buying another dual-boiler will leave you with a (very) small amount of folding stuff and a lesser machine.

But if you have made your mind up and the Vesuvius just has to go, it is a real opportunity for someone else who is after endless degrees of tweakability in an immensely satisfying machine to use and own. An ordinary dual-boiler machine will not be able to do what the Vesuvius can do.
