I recently acquired this machine second hand, but regret to find it is too big and that it is just not quite what I'm after.
After a reasonable trial period, certain comments from significant others have been made, and these subtle comments taken into consideration.
The verdict is that this machine needs to go to a new home!
This is the version 2 Millennium with 1.4L stainless steel boiler, originally purchased 2010. Being second hand I don't have a reliable history for the past usage, but was told it has been in storage for the past few years.
So far the maintenance I have done includes:
- New Cafelat silicone group seal
- Backflushed extensively to clean out the group head
- Dismantled the E61 and checked the seals
- Descaled group head components and re-lubed the cams with high temp grease.
- Pressure checked it to be running at 9 Bar static pressure.
- The boiler has had a good flush through, and the water was always coming out clear and clean, so I have concerns about the storage period tainting the boiler.
The internals all look clean and tidy with no major leaks or calcium deposits forming. The external metal panels were a little dirty from the period in storage, but have cleaned up well. There are some scratches on the lid from the usual coffee cup storage.
It includes single and double portafilter handles with baskets and I can throw in a 58mm tamper if it is needed to get someone started.
Asking $900 and would consider a swap for a smaller machine!
