  • !!!SOLD!!! - FS Macap M4D

I have a Macap M4D for sale - I bought it new from a site sponsor just under 8 years ago. It was in storage for a while and has probably only had about 120kg of coffee through it. It is in excellent condition. Reason for selling - I have upgraded
I replaced the burrs a month ago and it is running perfectly. It looks nearly new apart from the plastic slide (bean cut off) which annoyed me as it was flimsy so I removed it
The old burrs are included and actually look fine
It is in the original box with manuals
    Looking for $650
    Cheers
    Dr Dave

Always difficult to know what is fair isn't it? Its in great condition and so I think I've priced fairly to get it to a good home
    Cheers

This is cheap. Shouldn't last long.

I'm surprised by the price. A new one can be had for $900 with full warranty.

        Edit: only parts warranty

          Then don't buy it Ninja!

The (previous) site sponsor (I am not sure if forum rules permit me to name him as he is not a current sponsor) - that I purchased from advertises them at $1100 on their site today, Im sure others are cheaper

I haven't seen a new Chrome at that price and we import and distribute them !

            Pricing seems fair

I won't be buying it, but neither will the other people who commented on the price. Should I only comment if I have something affirming to say?

I fail to see how site sponsor pricing is relevant here as I'm assuming you don't provide a warranty or service equipment, which would be the primary reasons for buying from them- knowing you'll be looked after post sale.

I've PMd you the first link that came up when I googled Macap M4D. Admittedly the chrome is an extra $40.

Edit: it's actually an extra $50 as Barry pointed out.

It's $950 (not $940 as per your other post), and the warranty is described as a 'parts warranty'.

$650 for a grinder with new burrs seems fair enough to me.

                  Yes I know that company.

You won't see that pricing on their website in 14 days time and the chrome is an extra $50 on their site.

No I won't be buying it and the price is 'fair', if you like. 2nd hand M4Ds were selling for over $750.00 in 2012, on this site.

The price should encourage a buyer as it's actually more than fair. Good luck Dr_Dave, you're going to make someone very happy!

This is a popular grinder, and to be able to buy a good second hand unit, represents a good buy for someone looking to upgrade their kit. It has a nice footprint and the looks for spousal approval. To bring attention to the cheap offering online is poor form. Most people here look after their gear and if the 2nd hand price is a bit higher than elsewhere, it is because it is in good condition. People should be encouraged to sell their gear here first. If you think the price is unrealistic, then negotiate off line, or buy elsewhere.

I am curious as to what you are upgrading to Dr Dave. I am very happy with my M4D, and Bosco, and do not see any need to upgrade the grinder. For improved flavour, I just buy high quality green beans (cupping scores of 88+), as that has been the most noticeable improvement, and bang for buck.

I dont really want to join an internet battle
                          I have just bought a Compak F10
                          Cheers

Nice price! Wish I could justify another grinder. This is a ripper. Where are you located Dave?
