I just bought one. I will be selling my BE900, so will need to keep the box, in case I need it for that, but if I don't (which I probably won't as I will try to sell it as a pick-up) you are welcome to it. If you don't find one quicker elsewhere, let me know

i respectfully agree on that one. i ended up buying a box and bubble wrap from officeworks which i doubt will be as safe as the stock box with formed foam - but it was my only option

thanks for all the extra info guys. i dont think it says anywhere that it needs to be returned in the original box. I just neeed to send it to sydney. Figured it'd would be safest in an original box. I'd be happy to pay someone $10 or $20 for that privilege too.

the machine is 2.5 years old

Just wondering if anyone has a Breville BES920 Dual Boiler box that they either don't want or are happy to lend out?

I need to send machine in for repair and Harvey Norman failed to inform us to keep our box for the extended warranty. Breville's warranty offers local repair centers, HN requires the machine to be sent to Sydney
I'm in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne so if someone is close by that would be awesome.
    Thanks heaps!
    How old is the machine?

Just because you are out of Manufactures warranty, doesn't mean you dont have repair rights under consumer law (regardless of the extended warranty you purchased and the "conditions" that go with it.)

Under consumer law, you do not need to retain the packaging and box.

I sent a Sunbeam Crema back years ago. This had an extended warranty with Harvey Norman, all you do is pack it very securely, well padded in a normal box, ring the courier and that's it. You're supposed to send everything in, just in case they condemn the machine.

Though having purchased an extended warranty doesn't affect the OP's statutory rights either.

If the extended warranty doesn't specifically state that the packaging must be retained, they can't impose that as a condition later on.
