Up for sale my Oscar with cracked HX. Needs new boiler.

It has otherwise the following mods:

Anti vac valve
Adjustable group pressure valve. Electros kit returns to pump.
Newish pump
New pressurestat
Insulated boiler
Frame was treated and repainted some years ago
Spare parts and pressure gauges available to tune and Tweek.

I priced a new boiler at $170 in Sydney.

Just out of curiosity, how does a boiler get to be cracked?

Good question. Can't say I can answer that one. The pressurestat had failed not long beforehand, perhaps that supported the failure. It was overpressure when that occured which set off the secondary safety release, as it should. Regardless, there some good parts there if you'd like modify another Oscar or salvage this one. I had planned on repairing it but my family decreased in size and I came across Gaggia classic for nothing which suits me as an espresso drinker.
