  • !!!SOURCED!!! - Wanted: EM6900/6910/7000 steam thermoblock brass elbow!

    Gday All,

WANTED: Brass Elbow off steam thermoblock EM6900/6910/7000

long time lurker, first time poster.

I have a EM7000 which would no longer produce steam. After stripping the machine down it came down to a very, very blocked thermoblock. After a night soaking in vinegar solution and dreaming of the upgraded machine I would buy, with some high pressure persuasion it finally unblocked this morning. Reassembled and all works well, except.......

I must have over tightened the brass elbow off the steam thermoblock and cracked it at the thread so now there is a weep.

I believe the part is the same for 6900/6910/7000- is anyone wrecking a Sunbeam and can spare an elbow. Can’t find one anywhere without buying a new thermoblock. Would rather spend money on a new machine and can pay forward this machine when I do. It nearly ended up in the bin!

    In Perth, will pay postage.

    Cheers

      Thanks.

I have attached a stock photo of the thermoblock, need one of the brass elbows attached. They are quite tight all the way up the thread when undoing!

                G'day Raffs

IF Greenman doesn't find one, PM me - I may have one from a wrecked one where I kept a few common parts. A friend's Perth tap water casualty - 7 years using Vic mountain water - three months using the Perth crud and it was terminal.

                  Thanks mate,

Exactly right, I had a EM6900 in Melbourne for 8 years and was very casual with a descale. Never had a problem. I have a triple filtered whole house system here in Perth and the water obviously is still terrible. Machine only 16 months old and she was blocked solid. Will have to be more proactive with the descale when I upgrade to a decent machine.

                    Or no steamed milk drinks...
I have one at my place if all the others fall through. Already removed.

                            Thanks all.

Artman kindly supplied the part and back up and running this morning.

Nearly 5 days without a coffee machine is hard work!

                            cheers
