Agree...
Best example of one of these outside of a showroom I've seen too.
Kudos to your maintenance regime P_J...

These are a great machine, mine has been run every day for the last 12 years with the only two parts that have failed in that time being the o ring on the anti vac valve and the brew solenoid coil.
Good luck with the sale and happy espresso to the future owner

!!!SOLD!!! - FS [SYDNEY]: FAEMA E98 S1 Compact Heat exchanger
Hi Fellow ‘Snobs,
With some regret I’m offering up for sale my fantastic Faema E98 Compact S1 heat exchange machine.
It is in immaculate condition and works beautifully.
If you’ve ever used one of these you’ll know they are a pro machine, with truly superior build quality.
This one was built in 11/2007 and is still like brand new inside. (See pics).
It has a 3.5L tank (not plumbed in) and plugs into a normal powerpoint.
The tank is stainless steel and has a level device in it which warns you early when it is running low, but continues to operate until it gets really low, at which point it deactivates the pump. These levels can be programmed.
-Always run on filtered water
-Comes with original double and single baskets
Things I love about it:
* Thermal stability - It just keeps on giving!
* Steam power +++ and articulated arm.
* Sirai pressurestat
* Filling with water is simple as it has a seperate door at the top, so you don’t have to remove cups from the warmer on top.
* Build quality is sensational, I’d expect this machine to keep going for decades.
* The drip tray can have a drain pipe attached to your plumbing/sink (“plumb-out”).
* The custom paint job!
Things I’d recommend:
* Pro filter basket (I’ve been using a VST and it makes a huge difference).
* Plugging it into a timer - it takes ~20mins to get temp stable.
Mods I have done:
* Vinyl wrap Orange/black (this is removable if you want to take it back to original silver)
* Descaled, and re-calibrated the OPV to 9.5bar, and the pressurestat to 1.1-1.3bar operating range.
* Installed fluid return from the OPV to the tank to avoid drip tray getting full.
* New Expansion valve and group seal for sale.
If you’re after a heat-exchanger to brew and steam at the same time, and have a bit of bench space, this is a fantastic machine that will put a smile on your face every time you use it.
It is in tip-top working order, maintained by an enthusiast!
With the normal backflush and annual descale/maintenance it will just keep going beyond any consumer type product.
Please let me know if you have any questions!
$950.
