!!SOLD!!: Rancilio Silvia w/PID

Howdy! Well, the time has come to upgrade from my beloved Silvia. Bought in the 2005-06 summer holidays with money from a mathematics scholarship, this machine was soon donned with a Fuji PXR3 PID controller. Its good and bad. The bad - I saved a few $$ by importing the controller from the states, and unfortunately it came programmed to show degrees F, and it cant be changed. The good - the controller is a ramp/soak controller (great if you want to say, add it to a roaster and put a simpler one in the Silvia).

Miss Silvia is regularly cleaned (including backflushing) and has only ever been used with filtered softened water.

Includes:

• Naked portafilter
• 58mm stainless steel tamper
• La Marzocco double basket (well, it was bought from the LM section of coffeeparts, but doesnt look like my the LM double basket I recently got with my Pullman tamper)
• Blind basket
• Original PF handle, baskets, and dosing spoon
• All original manuals and receipts (dated Dec 2005)

How much for her I hear you ask? I will let her go for no less than $690. If you are interested PM me with your postcode and I will bring her down to the post office for a postage quote - including the box/packaging/insurance etc.

If you want to pick her up, that is also fine. I live in both Newcastle and Wollongong, and it can be picked up from either place. I also drive through Sydney regularly (twice a week) and if its not too far off my route I will drop her off to you on my journey (for a small fee of course )

Looks like a great buy for someone who is looking for the Ultimate Silvia mate, great price. By the way, I appreciate why you have posted a photo of your original purchase invoice but I wouldnt leave all of your personal details for all and sundry to read, your privacy is something you should guard zealously in this day and age of identity theft . Are you able to go back and block out your surname and address details in that photo? Id recommend it.....

I am living in Dulwich Hill, 20 minutes from Sydney CBD. I currently am using a Silvia which I am returning to its original owner after 3 years. I would like to buy your machine on the proviso that I can make on it a cup like the one I currently produce (or better). If you would be prepared to demo your machine on that basis, I would gladly pay cash C.O.D.

Hi Sam,
I cannot be sure you received my latest reply. I was hoping to meet at some mutually convenient Sydney location. If the Frisco Hotel in Woolloomooloo is easy for you, we might meet there. Otherwise, can you suggest a place? I am sure there is no problem with your machine, but I would like to see it working before I buy it.

Alright... doesnt seem to be a as much interest as Id anticipated, so Im dropping the price to $650.

Unfortunately Ill have to revise my free shipping offer as after looking into postage a little more I found out it would cost about $70 to ship it some states. So if you live in WA, TAS or NT Ill have to ask you to chuck in a little for shipping. PM me for details if your interested.

Also, if you dont want the PID, I can take it off and will sell the machine stock standard (plus SS tamper, oversized basket and naked PF that is) for $550, same delivery deal.

Im definitely interested. Free shipping to brisbane? Can you throw in some info on how to use the PID? I"ve read a bit about them but not enough. Would be nice to make the PID a little less ugly too if possible.

Need to consult SWMBO tonight but definitely keen.

Yeah free to Brissy is fine. Not much to learn about the PID, its pretty much set and forget. You can tweak it a little if you find your shots brewing too hot or cold. Also, being able to see the temperature of the boiler helps a lot in getting maximum steaming power. Ill see what I can do to tidy up the enclosure a bit when I get back home (sunday) and post some new photos.
